Re: Tips for mounting tire to rim
Hi Harjit
I use a rather crude and simple method.
First, I tape a thin double side tape onto the rim. Then I place the tire over it. I keep pulling and adjusting the tire until I'm satisfied. For a light weight robot, I think the double side tape is strong enough to make sure the tire does not dislodge during turns. So far, I have not encounter problem with this method.

Hi all.
I'm looking for tips on how to mount the tire on to the rim - I'd like to get them as round as possible.
In my design, the rim OD is slightly larger than the tire ID, so the tire has to be slightly stretched to get on the rim and this makes it hard to get on right.
Do you glue your tire to the rim?
How do you tell if you have the tires on, nice and round?
Thanks in advance.
