Thanksgiving is the 27th.  The contest is the weekend before.

Just as what I have expected, the next All-Japan micromouse contest 2008 has been officially announced to be held in Tsukuba Convention Centre (same place as last year)  from 21 to 23 Nov 2008.

Is the contest the weekend of the 22nd or the 29th?

I think thanksgiving is Nov. 22nd which may make attending tougher.
