Observatory robotics event: Bad news

Dear All,

As some of you may know there had been planned a robotics competition at the
observatory science centre for this coming Sunday. However due to a funding
dispute the observatory have denied funds for the Micromouse competition,
they want all the money it brings in but do not want to pay for expenses.

Unfortunately due to their view of funding they will expect a lot for
nothing. While I'm more then happy to promote robotics in education and
youths, I do not accept the fact that the company wants to make money out of
the event and not pay even a small amount towards expenses.

So unfortunately there will be no Micromouse competition and I'm inclined to
pull out of the events for the observatory altogether. We could still do a
meeting and run a few robots.

The final choice as always must be down to the people so I would appreciate
your views / comments on this.
