Standard Route Maze
The standard route for speed testing does not need to go all the way to the
middle. It only needs to be a route that could have got to the middle if it
continued. I would guess a section of maze 7x5 should be quite adequate for
a longish straight and some twisty bits.
As there are no choices in the route L and R wall followers must follow the
same route. If you do not think this is fair then you must build a pair of
mirror image mazes for them. It seems unlikely to me that running the route
in reverse will be equivalent to running the mirror image of the route.
A standard route up to 7x7 would enable 4 mice to be run simultaneously in a
standard size maze. This would mean races could be run. This would save
time and make it more enjoyable for the audience.
By the way, none of the sample mazes included in the e-mails so far have
looked like mazes in my CompuServe account. Does anyone have any ideas how
to deal with this?
